1" Antique Brass Key Rings - 40pcs Metal Split Rings for Keys & Crafts

I already purchased the package of black rings in various sizes for replacement of rings that I lost, but purchased these to have a variety of colors for key ring identification. These are great and were delivered very fastI don't have "cankles" where my calf and legs run together. There is definition between my calf and ankle. I'm just bigger...and while I know I need to lose weight for my health, I still want to look beautiful and not feel punished by clothing and shoe manufacturers for being a bigger girl. So, I used these rings to extend the ankle strap on my sandals so that I too can wear cute strappy styles that ordinarily wouldn't fit! I found the cutest sandals from Minnetonka in an 8 1/2 wide width. They had a very small ankle strap. ( Why don't manufacturers consider that if a person is buying a wide width shoe, they may also have a wider ankle to match! I know that that's not always the case but why don't they include some kind of extender?) Well, the shoe fit perfectly but the strap would not go around my ankle. I wrote to Minnetonka to see about an extender (and explaining the plight of plus girls with big legs!) and a rep wrote back saying "they referred me to product development". After that, I never heard back from a soul. But you know what did happen? They put me on their email list so that I could start receiving spam! I tried ordering a replacement ankle strap from Amazon in a matching color but when it arrived it was really cheesy looking and it didn't work with the Velcro ankle strap that was already on the shoe. So then I found these! And voila! My problem is solved. I have attached a picture so that you can see what I did. Now, I could probably have dressed these rings up a little more by adding some decorative beads. I could have also taken a pair of wire cutters and removed the original hardware so that the rings would lay flatter on my ankle but since I will probably wear these mostly with jeans, I won't worry about it. Still, I think it looks pretty darn good for an on-the-fly fix! (Now, if only I hadn't given away my cute Skechers black, ballerina flats with ankle straps. The straps almost fit. One ring per shoe would have fixed it.
